What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a set of clear plastic aligners that gradually corrects the alignment of your teeth and bite. Each tray applies gentle pressure to your teeth, slowly moving them where they need to be without the hassle of metal braces. Your aligner trays come in the mail, and you wear each one for 22 hours per day until your Invisalign dentist instructs you to move onto the next tray.

Which problems can Invisalign address?

Invisalign can be used to address a wide range of bite and alignment problems including:
  • Overbites
  • Underbites
  • Crossbite
  • Open bite
  • Spaces/gaps between teeth
  • Crooked teeth

Are the clear aligners painful?

You may experience some discomfort during the first few days of each new aligner, but the clear aligners are much more comfortable than metal and wire traditional braces. Slight discomfort is normal as the aligners apply pressure to move the teeth, but having pain is uncommon.

Different Types of Invisalign

There are now several variations of Invisalign, making it easier to get the right option for you. Here are the different types of Invisalign:
  • Invisalign Full- The original treatment, meant to be an alternative to original braces for extensive orthodontic treatment.
  • Invisalign Teen- A version specifically made for teens. They include a blue dot wear indicator which will help remind teens to wear the aligners and tell dentists how often they’re being worn.
  • Invisalign lite- This option is great for minor corrections. It’s commonly used to get teeth back on track if the teeth are shifting after traditional braces are done. Check out some Invisalign lite before and after photos! This process can straighten the front six teeth within six months.
  • Invisalign i7-An ideal option for minor irregularities, it involves 7 aligners and takes less than six months.
