Dental bridges are a fixed appliance that replaces missing teeth. While there are several types of bridges that Dr. Konotopetz may recommend, the traditional bridge is the most common. This type of bridge is made of porcelain fused to metal. It consists of two crowns that are placed over two anchoring teeth and are attached to the artificial teeth that are filling the gap created by one or more missing teeth.
Fixed bridges are used for a variety of reasons including filling missing teeth, preventing teeth from drifting out of position, restoring chewing and speaking ability, replacing dentures, and restoring your smile.
Dental bridges are done by Dr. Konotopetz over two or more visits. The first of which is to assess and develop a mold of the area where the dental bridge is to be fixed. The mold is then sent to a dental laboratory to be fabricated. The second visit is to cement the dental bridge in place.
