There are many dental emergencies that occur during and after hours. Typically, they deal with a knocked out tooth. If you have a knocked out tooth, there are things that you can do to help save the tooth. Besides calling us to schedule an emergency dental appointment:

If You Knock Out a Tooth

• Once you have found the tooth, gently rinse and scrub the debris off the tooth. Do not dry the tooth or wrap it in a tissue or cloth. When picking up the tooth and holding it, hold it by the chewing area not by the root.

• If you can place the tooth in the socket, do so gently.

• If you can't place it into the socket easily then to preserve the tooth place the tooth in your mouth between your cheek and your gum or under your tongue. Or alternatively, you can place it in milk.

• See a dentist within 30 minutes or as soon as possible. It is possible to save a tooth if it has been knocked out for longer than 30 minutes.
